Speed Cameras Greatly Reduce the Number of Serious and Fatal Accidents
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, a test conducted using speed cameras near Washington D.C. showed a reduction in the amount of deaths and injuries due to changes in the behavior of motorists. The changed behavior was a result of the motorists knowing about the cameras in the area. Serious Injuries and Deaths From Auto Accidents Are on the Rise
According to a recent report from the National Safety Council, an estimated 14 percent increase in traffic deaths occurred during the first half of 2015 in comparison with the first half of the prior year.
